MyTeenCare Terms of Use
What MyTeenCare is, what it is not, and what each of us is responsible for.
Last updated: August 15, 2026The agreement
These terms are between you and NorthNeuron Technologies Private Limited, a company registered in India. By creating a family account or using MyTeenCare you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
Who can use it
MyTeenCare is for young people aged 13 to 18. A parent or guardian must create the family account, confirm they are entitled to consent for the child, and invite them. A teenager cannot sign up alone.
If a young person reaches 19 while using the service, the family account is no longer the right arrangement for them, because they are an adult and cannot have consent given on their behalf. We will contact the account owner before ending access.
This is not therapy, and not an emergency service
MyTeenCare is a wellbeing companion. It is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, medical treatment, or a crisis service. It is not staffed by clinicians, and nobody is monitoring conversations in real time.
If someone may be in immediate danger, contact emergency services on 112, or Child Helpline on 1098, or go to a trusted adult now. Do not rely on this service to summon help.
The service may detect signs of serious risk and raise them to a parent, but detection is imperfect. It can miss things and it can be wrong. It is not a safety net and must not be treated as one.
What the AI can and cannot do
Companion replies and Homework Help are generated by a language model. They can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and they are not professional advice of any kind. Do not rely on them alone for decisions about health, safety, law, money, or schoolwork.
Homework Help is designed to help a student reach an answer themselves. Using it to submit work as your own, where that breaks your school’s rules, is your responsibility and not ours.
Privacy between parent and teenager
A parent does not get access to their child’s messages, journal entries, check-in notes or photos. Parents receive derived signals and guidance. This is a deliberate design choice and we will not make exceptions to it on request.
Where a serious risk is detected, a parent is told that something needs attention, with a small number of reviewed phrases so the alert makes sense. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly where that line sits.
What we will never do with your information
We will not sell your information. We will not share it with anyone for advertising. There are no advertisements in MyTeenCare, and there are no advertising SDKs, third-party analytics or tracking pixels in it. This is not a position we intend to revisit: the product is paid for by the people using it, which is precisely what removes any reason to monetise a teenager’s private writing.
We do use suppliers to run the service — hosting, sign-in, email and the AI service that generates a reply — under contract and only to provide MyTeenCare to you. Our Privacy Policy explains more about what each one does, and we would rather set that out than claim to use nobody.
If we ever intended to change any of this, it would be a change to these terms, and you would be told before it took effect rather than after.
Safety and reporting
Where we become aware of a serious risk to a child, we may act on it, including by contacting a parent or, where the law requires or a child’s safety demands it, the appropriate authorities. We may do this without prior notice where notice would increase risk to the child.
Records of a detected risk of harm are kept until the young person turns 21, and deleting the account does not erase them. This protects the young person as well as us.
Closing the account
The parent who owns the family account can close it at any time, in the app or at myteencare.ai/delete-account, signed in as that parent. We show you what will happen and ask you to confirm. Once confirmed it cannot be reversed.
A teenager using the app cannot close the family account themselves. If they want their account deleted they should ask the parent who owns it, or write to us at Contact@northneuron.com.
We may suspend or end access if the service is misused, if there is a risk to another user, or if we are required to. Where we can, we will say why.
Acceptable use
Do not use another person’s account, attempt to reach data that is not yours, interfere with or probe the service, upload unlawful or harmful content, or use the service to harass, deceive, or endanger anyone. Do not attempt to extract another family’s information.
Plans and payment
MyTeenCare is paid for as a plan per child. You choose a plan for each child you onboard, and a family account can hold up to four.
Standard is ₹399 per child each month and includes two guided Homework Help sessions each week. Premium is ₹549 per child each month and includes five.
The two free weeks are our offer, not a store’s, and we give them once. They are tied to the email address you sign up with: they cover every child you set up during those two weeks, a child you add afterwards does not get another free fortnight from us, and signing up again later does not start one. So that this holds when an account is deleted and made again, we keep one thing about that email address after deletion — that it has used its free weeks, and the date it did. We do not keep the address itself; it is stored as a one-way fingerprint, which lets us check an address someone gives us but cannot be turned back into an address. Nothing else survives a deletion for this purpose. On iPhone, any free period the App Store offers is Apple’s own and is governed by their rules, not this one.
On iPhone and iPad, plans are bought through the App Store. Apple takes the payment using the method on your Apple ID, and the plan renews automatically at the price above when the free weeks end unless you cancel first. You can cancel at any time in the App Store and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. We never see or hold your card.
On Android, plans are bought through Google Play. Google takes the payment using the method on your Google account, and the plan renews automatically at the price above when the free weeks end unless you cancel first. You can cancel at any time in Google Play and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. We never see or hold your card.
On the web there is no way to pay, so nothing is charged there. When the free weeks end without a plan, the account becomes read-only wherever it is used: everything already written stays readable, nothing new can be added, and the same notice and removal timetable applies as for a plan that has lapsed. Help Now is never affected.
If a paid plan does lapse — a card that stops working, or a cancellation that runs its course — that child keeps read access to everything they have written for thirty days, and we warn you three times before anything is removed. Their route to help is never affected.
We will tell existing families, in the app, before we ever begin charging for a plan.
Paying for a year costs less than eleven months would, for twelve months of access — ₹4,349 for Standard and ₹6,000 for Premium. That is more than one month free, and it is the entire yearly saving; there is no further discount.
A plan belongs to the child it was set up for and cannot be moved to another child — not to a sibling, and not after that child leaves the family account. A plan for another child is bought separately.
Renewing, cancelling, and what happens if payment stops
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
If a plan is not renewed — because you cancelled, or because a payment failed — that child’s account becomes read-only for 30 days. They can still read what they have already written, but nothing new can be added. We will tell you when those 30 days start, again part-way through, and again shortly before they end.
Your other children are not affected. Each plan stands on its own, so a plan that lapses for one child changes nothing for a sibling whose plan is still paid. Whatever happens with one child’s plan, another child’s access and writing are left exactly as they were.
At the end of the 30 days that child’s account is closed and their data is permanently erased, in the same way as if you had asked us to delete it. Your family account and any other children remain. We treat a plan left unpaid for 30 days as a decision not to continue for that child. This cannot be undone, so if you want their account kept, renew before the 30 days are up.
If the last remaining plan on your family account lapses, there is no longer a child on the account, and the family account itself closes at the end of that same 30 days.
A limited amount of safeguarding information is kept even after erasure. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what and why.
Prices, taxes and refunds
Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST. The price shown is the price you pay.
If we change a price, we will tell you at least 45 days before it takes effect, so you have time to decide. You can cancel rather than continue at the new price.
Where you pay through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, that store’s payment and refund rules apply, and refunds are handled by the store rather than by us.
Ownership
The service, its software and its branding belong to NorthNeuron. What you and your family write stays yours; you give us only the permission we need to operate the service for you, and that permission ends when the content is erased.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and it is provided as it is.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Please read that alongside the section above about this not being an emergency service. We are telling you plainly what the product is, so you can decide what to rely on it for.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. Our registered office is in Bengaluru.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product changes. Where a change materially affects you we will tell you in the product before it takes effect. For anything at all, write to Contact@northneuron.com.
